Tulip Ltd donates face masks to Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust

We have donated 1,800 fluid-repellent face masks to Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust from our Ashton-under-Lyme site.

The Ashton site is of strategic importance to some of the country’s leading grocery retailers, producing up to 1.5million tonnes of pork every week.

The decision to donate the surplus masks was based on the urgency of Salford Royal’s need and Tulip’s position, in line with government guidelines, that recognised the benefit primacy of using masks in clinical or care settings over its operational conditions. We therefore made the decision to donate its surplus masks to support front line NHS in the local area.

Mike Wijnberg, Group Technical Director at Tulip, states: We’re humbled by the incredible work of front line NHS staff and we’re pleased that we can do our bit to help them where we can. We’re working closely with Salford Royal, as well as other local health care providers and charities to see where we can offer support with supplies, equipment and food.
