We are pleased to announce that our Co-op Extra Posh Pigs in Blankets won first place in the Best pigs in blankets category and our Waitrose No1 Chipolatas bagged runner up spot in the same category in this year’s Olive Magazine Christmas Supermarket Taste Awards.

Both top spots in the same class pays tribute to how well respected we are in the pigs in blanket sector and why we are forever innovating and adapting. The collaborative efforts of both customer and site teams deserve a great deal of credit for this award and I want to thank them for helping to produce these award-winning products.”

Judges noted the Co-op product as having a strong herby sausage taste which will stand out on any Christmas plate. In addition, judges were as impressed with the Waitrose equivalents for having a good level of salt, herb and savoury flavours – in particular the sage leaf which was a nice extra touch.

The awards celebrate festive food which helps give consumers a little less time in the kitchen and little bit more time enjoying time with loved ones. All products are chosen and reviewed independently by their editorial team
