We are pleased to share that Pilgrim’s UK has been awarded the GroceryAid Gold Award for the fifth year in a row in recognition of our great fundraising, volunteering efforts and helping raise awareness.
The business has raised money throughout the year for the charity and spread awareness amongst colleagues and the wider public of the organisations vital work – providing practical, financial, and emotional support to people in the grocery trade – helping the sector for over 160 years. There was also good news for our sister companies, with Moy Park also bagging the Gold award and Pilgrim’s Food Masters winning Silver.
Pilgrim’s UK has supported several GroceryAid events, while colleagues have volunteered for the charity and raised awareness of its vital work. In addition, the business shared its best practice and work during the Diversity In Grocery event last summer in London with our own stand – discussing and sharing thoughts around our very own DE&I journey. We are also an active member of the GroceryAid Welfare Strategy Committee – contributing with expert advice and strategic support.
Marie Holmes, Head of HR, explained: “We are thrilled to be once again recognised by GroceryAid. 2023 was a challenging year for many people, but with the support of GroceryAid, we have been able to sign post and point our colleagues in the right direction – helping with everything from family guidance to financial matters. We’re proud to work with GroceryAid and earning this award for the fifth-year running is testament to the ongoing efforts of our team.”
The Gold Award is the highest possible accolade businesses can receive and is awarded to those that support the charity through fundraising, raising awareness and volunteering efforts.
