Seven nominations in Women In Meat Awards!

We are proud to announce that seven colleagues have been shortlisted across three prestigious categories for this year’s Women In Meat Awards. But with winners being decided by public vote, we need your help to ensure we walk away with as many awards as possible by casting your vote online before 29 August.

The 2023 awards follow last year’s success when Tracy Charlton, Ruskington Site Director, walked away with the Foodservice award as well as eight other colleagues included in the short list.

This year’s contenders include:

Manufacturing/Processing Award
Felicity Richmond – Technical Account Manager
Jess Crudgington – Site Director (designate)
Nicola Davies – Redruth Operational Manager

Training & Education
Kylie Quantrill – King’s Lynn HR Manager

Rising Star Award
Jodie Hood – Westerleigh Operational Excellence Facilitator
Olivia Bamber – Commercial Executive
Stephanie Swinyard – NPD Project and Systems Manager

Women within Pilgrim’s UK play a vital role in every aspect of our business, and I am confident these nominations will inspire other women to progress and join our industry. The Women In Meat Industry Awards are designed to recognise the vitally important contributions that women make to the meat sector. This unique awards initiative is driven by reader nominations and votes, with an expert judging panel gathering to select the overall Meat Businesswoman of the Year recipient. The results will be announced 17 November in London.

Rachel Baldwin added: “We need every colleague to vote and help us bring home the gold. Make sure you spread the word and get your colleagues, friends and family all involved. The more we vote the better the chance of winning.”

The business also wants to highlight support for Waitrose within the Multiple Retailing category where Katie Smith-Bingham, Buying Manager, also hopes to walk away with an award. In addition, Katia Catherine Glendinning, Supply Chain Manager, for sister company Moy Park and Constance Reeves, Area Manager, are both in the running for the Poultry award. And finally, our JBS colleague Daniela Giardin, Regional Sales Manager at JBS Global (UK), is hoping to win the Foodservice (Catering Butcher) award.
