Women working at Pilgrim’s UK are to gain access to an industry-leading suite of career development tools and mentoring opportunities thanks to a new strategic partnership with Meat Business Women, the female-led group that champions women in the global meat industry.
As a sponsor and strategic partner, Pilgrim’s UK will get priority access to Meat Business Women’s programme of events, networking opportunities and mentorship schemes. It will also provide expertise and input into the group’s strategic direction and support its wider mission of raising the profile of women in the meat industry.
Rachel Baldwin, Vice President – HR, Pilgrim’s Pride Ltd. Says: “Pilgrim’s UK has been involved with Meat Business Women for a number of years now and we are delighted to strengthen that existing relationship by becoming a Strategic Partner. We look forward to taking an even more active role in helping to drive its objectives to attract more female talent to the industry, nurture new entrants into the sector, and enhance networking opportunities.”
Laura Ryan, chair of Meat Business Women, says: “We are delighted to welcome Pilgrim’s UK as one of our strategic partners and look forward to working even more closely with its brilliant team. We know from speaking to hundreds of women in the global meat industry that networking and mentoring can make a huge difference to women’s career paths. It’s fantastic that Pilgrim’s UK is investing proactively in the development of female talent and giving women throughout the business the tools they need to succeed.”
Earlier this year, a report commissioned by Meat Business Women revealed that women make up just 36% of the meat industry’s global workforce and hold just 5% of chief executive roles. Meat Business Women is changing this by raising the profile of women in the global meat industry and connecting female talent through networking and mentoring opportunities as well as conferences and awards.
Meat Business Women is the global professional networking group for women working in the meat industry. Assuring the sustainability of the meat sector by attracting and retaining the best possible talent, its mission is to inspire, network and grow the female talent within the meat industry.
